Here is my version of Hammerhead, an Ithorian, as a X-Wing rebel pilot.
Recipe:
- Vintage Hammerhead Head, Feet and Hands
- Vintage Bossk Arms and Legs
- Vintage X-Wing Pilot Body
As always, I only use vintage figures that are beyond repair or restoration, breathing new life into something that would otherwise be thrown away.

This is my custom version of an Imperial Guard with his helmet removed, so we can get a glimpse of the type of man beneath the mask. The Imperial Guard was originally formed to protect the Galactic Senate, so these individuals pre-date the Stormtroopers and are not clones.
Still needs a red cape…
Recipe:
- Darth Vader Body
- SnowTrooper Helmet
- GI-Joe Head

Here’s my custom version of General Lando Calrissian. I created this for two reasons: One, the “real” version is somewhat rare, and two, the “real” version doesn’t quite get the uniform right. This custom doesn’t get it 100% either, but at least the slacks are (approximately) right.
Recipe:
- General Madine Torso and Shoulders
- Skiff Lando Head
- Bespin Lando Arms
- AT-AT Pilot Legs
All my customs use vintage figures that were in “played-with” condition and beyond restoration.

This is the requisite “BoShek” custom, the pilot from the cantina scene that introduces Obi Wan to Chewbacca.
Recipe:
- Bossk Body
- X-Wing Pilot Legs and Arms
- GI-Joe Head
I only use vintage figures, those that are beyond any repair or restoration, for my customs.

In “The Empire Strikes Back”, we see Luke Skywalker on the planet Hoth piloting a Snow Speeder. He is in the same X-Wing orange uniform, except with large white leather gloves.
Recipe:
- Degoba Luke Head
- X-Wing Pilot Body and Helmet
- Hoth Han Solo Gloves and Boots
I only use vintage donor figures that are beyond repair or restoration.

Here are two works in progress, both nearly finished and just in need of a few accessories.
The first is an Imperial Guard with a removable helmet. The idea is to personalize this figure by seeing the face behind the red mask. To finish this figure he needs a better staff weapon and a red cape.
The second is Darth Vader Unmasked. He is “more machine than man” now, and it shows. He also needs a cape, and some detail on the chest plate.
Recipe (Imperial Guard):
- Darth Vader
- Snow Trooper
- GI Joe Head
Recipe (Darth Vader Unmasked):
- Darth Vader
- Medical Droid
- GI Joe Head
I only use donor figures that are beyond repair or restoration.

Here’s a customization of one of my favorite droids: K-3PO.
This droid is seen in the first chapter of Empire Strikes Back. He is a white version of C-3PO who is in charge of the droid pool in Echo Base on the planet Hoth. Here is a link to this droid’s bio.
.
Notice the two red dots on the chest plate. I’m not sure if the back-story was made up after the fact, but those dots are rank insignia, making K-3PO a commander in the Rebel Alliance.
Recipe:
The donor figure had lost not only his gold coloring, but started loosing quite a bit of metal as well…
